Shedding the old bringing in the NEW and improved! I know most of you know me as West African Funk. As everything else in life evolves so does our dancing. After 5years after creating West African Funk my dancing has taken on another form. I have done extensive Hip-Hop work in deep East Oakland for two years, as I have been paying attention how Afro-street is also evolving! It is my prayer that you will embrace this new skin that is burning my soul to share. With this said I'm premiering KUDAFROBEAT this summer at dance mission for ONLY 6 SESSIONS!
A moment where my street dancing and the afro elements will collide! Hope to see you! (About the class read below)
The Music Base of this class lies in the three keywords given, Kuduro, Afro & Beat. Given this principle, this class will deliver and dive into the most popular Afro-Urban derived dance disciplines and dance vocabulary. To name a few: Kuduro, Azonto, Itighi, Gweta, Coupé-Décalé, Afro-House and more.... YET not forgetting the traditional technique and root as most Afro-Urban moves derived from. In addition to Lucero’s Afro-style and being a true Oakland Dance Teacher for OUSD, she will incorporate some Turfing, Hip-Hop, and West African Dance Technique into the Afro-Urban form. If you love Afrobeat/Afrohouse/Kuduro/ Music and cannot stop moving this class is for you.
**All Levels Welcome**
West African Funk was a dance class that was started in 2010 and has developed and grown throughout the years and now is KUDAFROBEAT (videos coming soon!!) .
"We grow and develop, as does our dancing.... embrace your evolution, and you'll never be bored"
